B DESIGN has been proudly owned and operated by James and Colleen Buchan since 2001. Originally based in Roxburgh, we relocated to Alexandra in 2023 to better serve our growing client base across Central Otago.
With decades of experience in the signage and design industry, we bring a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to quality in every project we take on — from small one-off jobs to large-scale branding solutions. Emma Buchan
Hi, I'm Emma. In 2022, I graduated from Otago Polytechnic with a Bachelor’s Degree in Design Communication (with distinction). After gaining valuable experience as a Design & Marketing Strategist working in Dunedin, I returned home to Central Otago to join the family business and focus on what I love most: working closely with people to turn their ideas into thoughtful, engaging designs.

My name is Janesca and I'm from South Africa. I've been in the signwriting game for over 18 years now, and I love every bit of it! I do everything from printing stickers to making and installing signs and wrapping vehicles.

Colleen Buchan
Hi I’m Colleen. I graduated from Otago University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Diploma for Graduates. I then worked for two years as an Accountant before starting B Design alongside James in 2001. We raised 4 children and ran our family based business from home in Roxburgh for 22 years before relocating it to Alexandra in 2023, where things have been steadily growing since! I now enjoy running all things finance and accounting on a weekly basis.
